The New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists Research & Education Foundation was established in 1982 to promote public welfare through development of quality pharmaceutical services in hospitals and other organized health care settings. The Research and Education Foundation encourages, provides for, and engages in scientific research, professional study, and advancement of science of hospital and institutional pharmacy. The Foundation’s mission is vital to advancing pharmacy practice in New York State.
The Research and Education Foundation has a rich and robust 40 + year history and has diligently furthered its mission by:
- Supporting the NYSCHP Residency Research and Practice Forum since its inception in 2016 with over $50,000 to provide opportunities for young pharmacy practitioners to showcase their innovative work by contributing to the advancement of quality pharmacy services
- Awarding 120 research grants across a multitude of health-system clinical and leadership focus areas
- Providing funding for NYSCHP educational programs and keynote speakers
- Establishing and awarding the prestigious Bernard Mehl Leadership Award to health-system pharmacy leaders who have set themselves apart by advancing exceptional leadership qualities and acting as role models and mentors for future generations of the profession
- Supporting the diligent work of our Grant’s Committee, who secure grants that aide in research and education
- Developing a mentorship program that will create a strong field of leaders that will be the next generation of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that will continue to drive the Foundation’s mission and vision
Of course, this 40-year legacy could not have been realized without the commitment and support of the NYSCHP membership and Pharmacy Industry leaders who continue to recognize the importance of the Foundation and its mission and want to be a part of this movement and the future of the profession.
I look forward to your participation and support in our upcoming Research and Foundation events.
