2025 Innovations in Pharmacy Practice Research Grant
The NYSCHP REF awards grants are designed to encourage and support forward-looking research that examines new and innovative models in pharmacy practice. The goal is to expand the pharmacy workforce’s role in providing direct patient care and to add valuable insights to the field of Pharmacy Practice.
We are excited to recognize the following grant recipients:
1. “Implementation of a Pharmacist-Led GLP-1 Clinic to Improve Medication Adherence and Continuation Outcomes”
Congratulations to Principal Investigator Robert Peterson and the team at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, Nyack, NY, for their commitment to advancing pharmacy practice and patient care.
2. “Empowering Patients at Home: Pharmacist Home Visits for Safer Medication Use”
Congratulations to Gabriela Cipriano and her colleagues at St. John Fisher College, Wegmans School of Pharmacy, Rochester, NY, for their innovative approach to patient safety and empowerment.
We extend our gratitude to J&J Innovative Medicine for generously providing the initial funding that makes these impactful projects possible.

Established in 1982, the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation is a public foundation dedicated to three core missions:
• Promoting public welfare by developing high-quality pharmaceutical services in hospitals and other health care settings.
• Supporting and engaging in scientific research, professional studies, and the advancement of hospital and institutional pharmacy.
• Improving the quality and accessibility of pharmaceutical services for hospitals and institutions across the state.
The field of pharmacy is dedicated to serving society by ensuring the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications, devices, and related services.
